What all can you put in Small tanks?

I recently acquired two small tanks (a 1 gallon and a 1.7 gallon) and was wondering if there was anything besides maybe plants that I could put in them? Otherwise we might just use them as isolation tanks for like dosing medication or tiny fry (from like galaxy rasbora).

Ok! That works out well. Wish I could upgrade the light on them, but the one is part of the hood and filter .... the other, the hex, I have no idea where I would get a better light that would fit it ... besides the LED clip on ones. Any ideas?

OK, OP's husband here. I was going thorugh Aqadvisor for figuring out how many of what I can put into the 1.7g tank, and I'm kinda confused...

If I had a SINGLE cherry red shrimp, it says I am 5000% overstocked. is that a bug on the site?

AqAdvisor isn't the best with inverts, you could probably get away with over ten.

I would say that 1 RCS in a 1.7 gallon is definitely not 5000% stocked. I would start with 5 or so and see how many you end up with. They are very prolific.

Yeah, I was kinda hoping for a tank I could start a good colony for seeding our other tanks that have fish in them.
