Wow, my recent husband's new fish-bug is going strong: he's now ordered an zebra oto pair from our LFS. We can get them on Friday!!! So so far he's got:

- 3 DP's (dwarf puffers, sorry)
- 1 leopard pleco (perhaps a Pseudomanthis leopardustype, L114?)
- 3 kuhlI loaches (we hesitate betwen the smaller Panio cuneovirgata type, and Pangio malayana)
- 2 zebra otos (well, on Friday)

He's got himself a coool tank!

What size of tank does he have all of that in? I'm inheriting a 33 gal tank from my grandpa and am debating on what to populate it with. He's had angels in it for a long time and, sadly, is waiting for them to die so he can get rid of the tank, heh. it's funny. they are supposed to be harder fish to take care of, yet he does nothing but feed them and throw in extra water every now and then with a filter change and nothing is going wrong in his tank. Must be the live plants taking care of his nitrates...

Lucky you that the lower maintenance regime works. You'd act if you saw a problem, right? I mean you're not saying you're trying to kill him or anything?

I know the feeling about that one last inconvenient fish. I have a molly male that I really love. He's lovely to me, really sociable fish to humans, but he keeps raping the females quite violently and repeatedly, and we're having loads of babies that we don't want also as an added inconvenience. He's sick now and in isolation in the hospital tank, and although I really like him, it would be more convenient if he wasn't there. But of course I'll do my best to help him (mouth rot).

He's got a 72L (13G). But he's got the really dwarfy puffers. I mean there are 2 kinds of dwarf puffers, and his are the tiniest (get to 1in).

They're cool, arent' they. I think we're massively overstocked in his tank now, though. Ah well. He cleans it like a maniac, and when he gets sick of all the elbow grease, he'll agree to get a new, bigger tank!

Ooooooooh, we got our zebra otos last night. They're huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge in comparison to normal otos (well, 1.5x the body I'd say). They are getting attacked by our kuhlI loaches, but we'll watch this space. I reckon it's just the initial teething problem and things will settle.
