After plans for my pond disappointingly falling through, I had to go to my LFS to cheer myself up... Boy was I glad I did... I decided to buy some new inhabitants for my 100 gal community... I was able to pick up 4 Boesemani rainbows, 4 Praecox rainbows, 2 GBRs, and to my utter joy, 4 scarlet gem badis... I have been looking for these forever.

I am going to try the badis out in my community tank first... If things go well with them, I will dedicate my 20 gal to scarlet gem badis, celestial pearl danios, and assorted shrimp... this will be easier to since my LFS informed me that the badis and CPDs are very easy for them to get now...Today turned out to be a good day.

Yeah!!!!! New fish!

I hate that your pond didn't materialize. I think you've made up for it now Beautiful fish!

Thanks for sharing and I'm glad they've cheered you up.

I love Dario Dario! I hope to keep them some day but have yet to find a store near me that sells them.

Just wanted to show you guys some updated pics of the Scarlet Gem Badis in their 20 gallon tank... Initially, I had them in my community tank, but that tank was too large for them and I rarely saw them... After picking up some RCS and green shrimp, I moved them all into the 20 gallon that used to be my divided betta tank... I am planning on eventually picking up a couple more badis and also adding a school of CPDs

Just wanted to post some pics that I took today of my Scarlet Gem Badis that show them colored up quite a bit. They are some of the best looking fish that I have ever had. I have also added an initial school of CPDs but the little buggers are too fast to photograph

Gosh I love those little guys! I've seen them on LiveAquaria and I just can't stop wanting some! I like the blue ones too, but I think the reds are winning me over more XD

In my opinion, the camera washes out the color a little... I feel they are actually a little brighter in person... They are so fun... they act like little tiny red german rams.

Akari_32: I like the blue ones also... Liveaquaria says they grow 3 times as large as the red ones, so I may pick up some blue ones for my community tank.

Ok snakestorm526, if I find some and they mysteriously appear in one of my tanks, I'm blaming you!
