Well it is all setup and cycling 55 Gallon Tank

    I love the way it turned out. The natural rock bottom looks so much better than the blue and pink stuff the kids picked out for the last one. I have the back painted black so it will present better. Yes it is a bit cloudy. I migrated all of the existing water from my 29 to this one with the fish so I am hoping the cycle isn't too long. Only 10 fish and a frog in it now. Will add more later after the cycle.

    It looks great. The black background really makes it stand out, but remember that your beneficial bacteria is not in the water column. It's in the biological stage of your filter. But you can use a product like Tetra Safe Start to get the cycle going.

    I am using the biowheel filter that was in the old tank with the same wheel and cartridges so that it gets into the water. After I have let it cycle for a couple weeks I am going to add my new emperor filter and let them run parallel so that the Emperor will cycle itself. Then when that balances I will be adding more fish.
