Weird White Lump On Tetra

I noticed this morning that one of my black neon tetras has a white lump right next to its fin. The lump looks like a puffball with rays sticking out of it. I know its not ick because its too large, and I'm not sure if it's a fungal infection. There are no other lumps or white areas visibly present on this fish or any of the other tetras in the tank.

Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 5ppm
ph: 7.4

 

It could be a fungal infection they are much larger than ick. Are you able to upload a picture of the fish?

I don't know how to upload photos , but what easy ways could I treat a fungal infection?

ok, i'm gonna QT the tetra for now, then try to treat it.

 

Possible anchor worm, but those usually hit bigger fish.I had anchor worms on a black moor. At first I thought it was fungus. Then the worms blew out the side of the fish. If the things sticking out are shaped like a "Y," it's anchor worms. You can medicate, or do what the pros do and net it, lay it on some plastic wrap, and tweeze the little suckers out of there.

Well, it wasn’t anchor worms, they weren’t y shaped. The fish actually just died, so I can’t treat it. The other fish in the tank don’t seem to have anything wrong with them at this point in time...
