weird... removing fake plants makes ammonia go up

every time I remove my fake plants my readings go .25 ammonia .25 nitrite...................... so I guess I MUST not remove my fake plants huh? -_-

I would assume there are some BB living on your fake plants.

Also, there could be waste trapped under the plants. Removing them releases the waste into your tank.

I have a 30gal filter.. for my 20 is that good? well + another 15gal filter... so like 45gal filter in a 20gal...... lol

Even with heavy filtration, gunk always seems to find its way underneath decorations. I don't know how, but every time I lift up my driftwood (for example) there's always a ton of crud under it.
