Weird question- male partially blind molly

I have a male molly that is blind in one eye due to skin grown over it, it has been that way since I got him over seven months ago he was a small dude ( he's like 4 inches now). But that never interfered with anything like he swims, eats, and messes with my females fine. I got the females that I have at the same time as him But for the last two days he was acting weird by not swimming a lot and staying and laying down by the gravel and turning sideway at the bottom and doing weird movements and seemed just off so today I moved him from my 30 gallons into my 5-gallon hospital/ quarantine tank and I dosed it with the medicine for what I thought was wrong with him a couple of hours ago and now he seems to be doing better even though he is still down at the bottom but he is swimming more and not turning to the side when at the bottom. So my question is how fast does it normally take for the medicine take to get in and work? Also, could he have been being bullied by the females that's why he seems to be doing better now? I am quite confused. Also attached is a photo of my male molly. Also If bullying was the issue in my 30 gallons should I keep the male in the 5 gallons then to prevent further bullying if it is bullying to better help him?

Judging by the fact that he perked up almost instantly I would guess the main problem was bullying or some other stressor in your 30 gallon. You didn't specify what medicine you used, but it usually doesn't work within hours, however, he very well could be sick with something, the weird movements you said he was doing sound like shimmying which can be a sign of disease. Is he bloated? The picture makes him look a little swollen. I don't know enough to tell you what to do with him, but if you choose not to put him back in the 30 gallon, don't keep him in the five. That's much too small for mollies, they need at least 10, 30 if they're sailfins.

Hi thanks for the advice! On closer inspection of my 30 gallon the smallest of my mollies that I thought was a female turns out to be a male. In my defense of miss sexing it because when I first got it I
The little fella was a legit baby that was given me by accident with the others and I has to basically grow it out a little before I could I put it in there. So I am thinking about putting him back in my 30 gallon and getting a a couple of females just to even the balance in my 30 gallon for the male to female ratio. Also the male molly in question seems to be doing fine now and he wasn't bloated and it was just all really weird.

Glad it all worked out! Don't feel bad about missing the other male, it can be difficult to tell, especially when you thought you already knew

Update: after about a week of seeming and doing better in the 30 gallon with some new female mollies (after a few days of treatments when he was in my 5 gallon hospital tank). He started to take a turn in the wrong direction last night and this morning and unfortunately passed tonight sometime before I got home from work. All of the other fish seem to be fine. So I am just guessing whatever he had a few weeks wasn't fixed or I made it worse. I checked the water and everything seemed fine
