Weird Neon Tetra Illness

Introduction:
My family and I have had trouble keeping neon tetras. We've had two previously with the one we have now. All three have gotten this weird thing. Sometimes they seemed to recover or after a while they died. We currently have two female kuhli loaches, and one male dwarf blue powder gurami. They are in a 10 gallon tank and the water is normal. We have another 5 gallon tank used for quarantine where there are two neon tetras waiting to go into the big tank in a few weeks along with a black nitrate snail (I also have parasite problems with him) (water is also normal). I need help identifying this illness so that I can treat this neon tetra before it's to late. I have two good photos but they're not great. The tank is algae ridden, hence why we got a snail.

Symptoms:
Sort bloated stomach. Like round ball shaped balloons on his stomach.
Tail sorta bent just recently, and blue stripe has bent as well.
For a while when normal looking, didn't eat well at all, spat out food constantly.
Normal feces.
Normal behavior.
I don't think it's bloat or dropsy.

 

There's a good chance you are dealing with NTD, Neon Tetra Disease, an illness that's practically specific to that one species.
It's a very common ailment & there is currently no cure for it.
IMO, The best course of action is simply careful fish selection & buying from a reputable vendor.
Make sure the next Neon you select is eating & displays no symptoms of disease.

Sorry A201 I have to disagree.

There is not any sign of NTD in this fish nor.is it specific for neons (it is called that way cause it was firstly diagnosed on a neon).

It being a parasite getting from a reputable shop (always best) isn't a guarantee but the disease is so rare.

This looks more like an internal.parasite.
I'd deworm it but think the damage is allready done.

I noticed the pictured Neon's bloated abdomen, one of the later symptoms of NTD.
IMO, odds are NTD is the likely parasitic culprit, but of course the problem might in fact be another variety of parasite as you suggest.
Either way things don't look good for the poor Neon.
Really all we can do is provide educated guesses & hope the advice helps.

No offense or what so ever but Neons aren't the primary target. NTD is always mentioned when neons are involved (in allmost all cases it is not). so when searching the internet allmost only this fishspecies will occure.

As said I don't see any sign of NTD in this fish.. I think we shouldn't mention NTD that fast in case of any doubt cause that diagnose "rules out" cure / treatment in an instant.
