Weird Larvae

hey all!! So I’ve had an outdoor 29 running with a sponge filter attached to a solar air pump and it’s now the home of about 25 ramshorn ( wild guess I’m sure there are more) anyways I had some RCS that didn’t seem to be doing good ( was down to 2) so I decided to drop them in the 29 as well and have since been doing fine but there are a few weird creatures in there as well.
1. Some white worms that appear to touch head to tail as they scurry through the water ( some are red as well that “swim” the same way. ( detritus or something else?)
2. There are what look like larvae that are about 1/4” long with 2 big eyes and just a tail. Nearly impossible to get a pic of. Could that be mosquito larvae? Sorry no pics but hopefully the description is helpful enough thanks!!

you could probably determine if they were mosquito with a quick google search.
Mosquitos have big heads and small feelrs or pinchers on top, and they allow their tails to float up at the surface.
When the surface or side is displaced they scurry to the bottom flicking their bodies back and forth as they swim, swimming head to tail as you say, flick flick back and forth lol
They sort of look spiky and are gray
They can be accompanied by small red worms that people will call blood worms and claim it is part of the mosquito life cycle. Not totally sure on that one but I've fed them before.
Mosquito larve have two stages I'm aware of
Larvae and pupae
The pupae is similar but a big ball that floats on the surface in groups.
They're alien like to me in the way they have two cubby antenna and look like the heads of possible aliens lol
Ones that are sort of puzzle pieced together and jump around in the water XD

Hopefully my description sort of helps yours, and a picture from good old google could tell you.

Otherwise, not totally sure what they would be! Lol
Not sure about white worms unless those are larvae too.

Thanks yes that is pretty much exactly what they are like. I’ll search it after. Can I scoop them in a net and put them in my tanks? I fed my betta 2 mosquitos that landed on the surface n died and he gobbled em both up..it’s the first time I fed em that . I did have some detritus worms in there but they look different than the ones I’m describing . Thanks for the reply!!

Sounds like mosquito larva, the red worms are bloodworms they are the Midg Fly larva. Both I collect, freeze and feed my fish.

I've fed them live, my picky betta likes to hunt them, but freezing is also a good idea!
Yep just net them out.
I rinse mine first since they're in an algae pond.
