Weakening Current for Fry

Hi!

So as posted in the Angelfish forum, my bf's Angel's have had a successful go at breading. My bf bought a 10 gallon grow out tank for the fry and is in the middle of setting it up. He is using 2 filters, an old 20 gallon tetra filter that works ok, and my Aqueon 10 quiet flow filter. The current coming from the filters is too strong for the fry and neither have an adjustable flow.

Is there anyway to weaken the flow so that the fry won't get pushed around by the current?

Good morning,

The video posted above is a great example on how to keep fry from being sucked into the filter, but it doesn't show how to diffuse the filter flow.

You can also add a sponge cut to fit and place the sponge in the outflow area of each filter. I would suggest an Aqua Clear sponge. Make sure the sponge is a little larger than the outflow area so that you have to force it to fit. This will keep the sponge from flowing into the tank.

More options:
Filter Flow Diffusers

Help me find the happy medium
