We use Oak Tree leaves. Oak Tree bark?

I know that we often use Oak Tree leaves in our shrimp tanks. Has anyone ever used Oak Tree bark? The texture of the bark would make all kinds of hiding spots for baby shrimp, plus it would produce crazy amounts of biofilm.

Only problem i see with bark is the disintegration factor, but if you don't mind the leaves, probably won't mind the bark, either!

I'm going to try the bark. I'm going to boil it quite a bit, though. I'm sure the fresh bark would leech out crazy amounts of tannin.

I'd like to know how that turns out once in the tank; even after boiling, how much it would leech.

I'm going to boil it and see if it sinks. Otherwise, I'm going to super glue a rock to keep it down.
