I am super excited! This was a great thing to wake up to this morning. I only got these blue velvets a couple weeks ago, I was expecting to have to way longer for them to start taking off but apparently I don’t! This is my first ever berried shrimp. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

Also she’s been turning way lighter blue every time I look at her. She was one of the lower quality not as dark blue ones to start with but is way less so now. Anybody know what’s up with that?

Congratulations. I just noticed this evening that one of my red cherries is also, that I've had for about the same amount of time.

I’m about four weeks past my first berried cherry shrimp giving birth to babies. Took over three weeks to give birth once first berried. Then took another three weeks before the little guys consistently showed themselves. I thought for sure I must’ve done something wrong that killed the delicate little guys. Now they are everywhere!! Important lesson for me was patience. That six weeks took forever and I was tempted to make changes. I’m glad I didn’t

Stability in water I think is one of the most important things in shrimp keeping.

Haha good to know. Honestly it's been hard enough to find the 5 that I have in my tank I took a really bad picture this morning of the berried shrimp and spent the rest of the day looking for it again. I can never find all of them at the same time. I will do my best to wait Got another one that's saddled so maybe I'll have more soon.

I should have about 13 but I can never see more than about 2-3 at a time and I can't tell if they're dying or just hiding because I'm having an algae problem. Green killing machine should be here by the end of the week so I'm keen for that

What's the green killing machine?
What's stuck to the glass to sort out algae bloom

Snap! I bought 20 for my community tank; I only saw 1 dead body and saw female betta swallow whole 2 fairly large juveniles, so when I didn't see any I assumed they were all eaten. Then out of the blue I found 6 shrimplets so put them in my qurantine tank. Every once in a while I see a couple of cherrys in the community tank, then yesterday I saw 5 tiny shrimplets! So they are still alive in there and making babies - just very good at hiding.
