Ways To Promote Fin Regrowth After Finrot?

I'm looking for some suggestions on how to encourage fin regrowth on our Betta. We seem to have gotten his finrot under control, he's been 'stable' for a few weeks, and he's active and happy. I know 'pristine' water is of the utmost importance for taking care of finrot - his water parameters have been O, O, 5 for a few weeks, with twice weekly 50% water changes (his tank is only 2.5 gallons, so we tend to do larger changes). Temp is around 80.

He's a halfmoon, but his fins are so small now from the finrot. He's looking healthy, which is really all that matters to us, but we haven't seen any progress in his fins actually growing back. Should we try a couple of salt dips? Anything else we can try? The water conditioner we use for water changes contains aloe vera, which is supposed to help I think.

I'm hoping to move him into a 5gal tank we've got set up for him, possibly this weekend. Dunno if that will make a difference in his health, we are hesitant to cause him any stress at all, knowing that stress certainly won't help him!

Suggestions? thank you

I use Vitachem in my tank twice a week. It is supposed to help with fin regeneration. I do not have a betta, I have black neon tetras and for some reason, I get chronic fin problems. I have 2 black neons out of 7 that are currently dealing with some tattered dorsal fins. I have mixed results, as one seems to be improving, while the other, not so much. But I believe the one that is not improving has other health issues, unfortunately.

More frequent water changes would assist regrowth. Try doing 3-4 30-40% changes weekly instead of the two large ones.

Thanks for the tips - tokiodreamy can you please explain about the water change amounts? I'm not really clear on how the amount of water changed affects the fin regrowth providing the parameters are good? Although I guess he'd be getting his water conditioner 'refreshed' which might help? (still kinda new at all this)
I vacuum the gravel about once a week - he doesn't leave much mess so more than that isn't really necessary for vacumming.

Keeping the water fresh helps keep the fins happy and healthy. Salt dips won't really help I don't think because they help to stop the finrot, but not as much the regrowth. Just patience and clean water.

Water changes also replenish minerals in the water colony. Tanks with more frequent water changes tend to grow fry faster. So larger water changes help aid in regrowth and mineral replenishment while keeping tank parameters in check
