Will need a little more information to better understand what is causing your high ammonia levels.
Has the tank been cycled? How long has tank been running?
Have you done anything to the filter media or substrate, e.g. deep cleaning? Replaced?
What is your current BIO loading?
All tank occupants accounted for?
Add fish, remove fish to change bio load?
Treat tank with any meds or supplements?

Good questions. I will add a couple more. How often are you doing water changes and how much are you changing each time?
