Water testing after adding fish

So we added 4 emerald corys to our 33/34 gallon tank yesterday. This is in addition to the 6 live bearer males we cycled with. This is our first fish addition since the initial which was done with TSS.
So today I tested the water. Ammonia 0.25, Nitrites 0. All I did was dose Prime for the volume of the tank (I think a little over dosed since a capful us easier then 4 threads) and walk away. I assume I should just keep testing daily with the addition of new fish until ammonia & nitrites are both back to 0. Do I need to do a water change before adding more Prime tomorrow if there is still ammonia >0?

When was the last time that you did a water chance and what percent?

Any time you add bioload you'll get a minI cycle. Just dose prime daily for 3-5 days to cover the bump and keep testing. If you see ammonia creeping up on 1.0, do a water change.

Your prime dosage is fine. I dose 2 caps in my 75 instead of 8ml. You really can't overdose prime without doing something ridiculous and extreme.

I did a 50% water change last Thursday, so I am due again in 2-3 days anyway. I checked water parameters yesterday immediately before going to get the fish and the tank was at 0, 0, 10. So the increase to 0.25 ammonia is a definite change, although not a surprise (which is why I checked).

But I was wondering if the Prime "releases the ammonia" after 24 hours, creates a build up of prime-locked ammonia or if the assumption is that the bacteria has processed the ammonia in that time? Thanks for the help!

It releases the ammonia, so you'll want to dose it daily while you have any ammonia or nitrite readings

Cory's need to be in groups of their same type 6+ (Sorry if I missed something).

Since this is a newly cycled tank she is adding her fish friends slowly to allow the BB to catch up. There will be at least 8 when she is done.

Stocking slowly is a good rule.
