Hi I’m just wondering if there is a way to get the water from my Gerry can type container back into aquarium without lifting the bucket above the tank which I am finding very difficult to syphon back in. I’m looking for a pump of some variety my LFS just told me to syphon which is to hard for me I’m guessing that people always over the world don’t lift hundreds of litres of water a day but I could be wrong. Thanks In advance.

with that kind of reservoir i'm not sure, but just to share you my experience, i use a 40 liter bucket and a powerhead filter to pump that water to my tank.

edit: i just search now, and there's a variety of powerhead filter, maybe you can find one that is possible to attach hoses on both ends

How big is the hole on the can? I can measure my spare pumps when I get home tonight.

I got a small water pump from ebay. I put it in the bucket with the new water in it and use a hose to put it in the tank. There are different sizes, the smaller one I bought was not powerful enough to lift water from a bucket on the floor, so I had to set the bucket on a stool. A slightly larger one lifts the water from the bucket on the floor.

Thanks for your replies I will measure I let on my can. I find lifting the bucket really hard which is why I’m using cans. Thanks
