Water Pump Needed

I currently have a 10 gallon tank on a stand, with a 20 long waiting to be set up. I do 50% WC every weekend on my 10G, which is a full 5 gallon bucket.

Getting the dirty water out is not an issue, I just use a siphon. However, getting water back in is a pain.

I fill the 5 gallon bucket and treat the water, then use a big plastic cup to scoop it out into the tank.

I was wondering if there was a small, inexpensive pump that I could use to get the water from the bucket into the tank.

Does anybody else use something like this? Or know of a small aquarium pump that would work?

I think I have pond/fountain pumps on Amazon for under $10. I will see what I can find.

However you must look at the pump lift to see if it can pump to the height you want. That will tell you how big a pump to get.

 

I did see one at Petco the last time I was there, it was like 16 bucks, and claimed 195 gallons per hour. That's about 3-1/4 gallons per minute, making my 5 gallon bucket empty in about 90 seconds.

Edit: I would need about 4 feet of lift (bottom of bucket at floor level to top of tank on a regular stand)

Max lift on that is 2.6 feet. I'm thinking he might need close to 4 feet of lift. From the floor to the top of his tank + 1 foot.

 

This will work... and fast.
