    Hi everyone,

Well, after four months of cycling my aquarium is finally ready. My local pet store did a water sample check for me and said everything is good. However, the water does not look clear to me. Is this a common problem? And can I begin to add fish? Thanks.

    Hi Pat :)

What size tank, how did you cycle?

Also, what kind of light and substrate are you using in the tank?

    Welcome to fishlore!
Pet stores usually use test strips, which are inaccurate. I would get a liquid API test kit.
Is it milky cloudy or greenish cloudy?

I have a 46- gallon bowfront tank that a friend sold me. I cycled using just carbon filters and a bioscrubber.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm using just gravel and a MarineGlo 30 watt bulb that I believe is best for saltwater tanks? My tank is a freshwater.

What are your water parameters? Do you have a test kit to check?

I have an API test kit. The water looks more milky cloudy to me. Hard to tell.
