Sup guys, question for you. Was wondering if this would be to much water movement for my 75 gallon tank. I have 14 rainbow fish. 2 fluvel 406 canister filters. Aqueon 950 powerhead. 1,716 gph. Is this too much movement for my boesemanI rainbowfish planted tank. They don't seem to be struggling. I also know they like a lot of movement.

2 fluval 406 canisters 766gph
Aqueon 950 powerhead 950gph

That is a lot in a 75. It would really depend on how you have the outputs set up. As long as there is a calm area in the tank for them to relax it should be ok.
They do like moving water, just use your judgment. If you see them struggling you'll know it's too much.

Ya. I noticed that my plant moved around a little much and pulled my lugwigia plant out of the eco complete substrate. The reason I bought it was to get enough water surface movement. I have a co2 system running.do you think just the surface movement from both canisters would be enough?. I don't have a air stone system for when the co2 shuts off at night. I'm at 766 gph now.

The avatar picture I have, is the tank I'm talking about. The local fish store told me that as long as I have surface movement, you don't need a bubble stone. Even when the co2 system is running. You won't lose much co2

You can get plenty enough surface movement from your filters, just angle them up a bit at night. Or you could just use the powerhead on a timer. You can make the water movement hit itself to lessen the flow if needed.

Ya. That's pretty much what I did, but instead of the powerhead. I put 2 bubble stones on a time at night
Gives my fish a break to rest. Thanks everyone for the feedback.
