I got a water lily from my LFS - it was in one of those plastic pots with whatever fabric they use to anchor the roots/bulb in. After peeling it apart, I noticed plant/roots were totally detached from the bulb.

I planted the roots into the substrate, and also the bulb (not all the way in, about half way) separately. Will the plants still survive? Will the bulb eventual sprout a new plant?

Thanks in advance!

This is an old bulb with new growth.

And this is a new baby bulb. Also I have 2 Lilly's without bulbs that are doing fine as well.
