Hello,
Live in Arizona. I just put some water lettuce in my small pond (two feet round) Can it tolerate 100 degree temps and freezing in the winter here? Should I give it plant food in the water too, just like my planted Aquariums? Thanks all.

Hello
Unfortunately Water Lettuce does not tolerate cold water or freezing temperatures. The leaves, when exposed to the cold will turn white and rot away. You should discard Water Lettuce after the first hard frost.

I will read up on it; I like how key words are highlighted and I can click on them on this web site. Maybe I can bring it inside in the winter. Thx!

we have water lettuce in many parts of Texas. so they should be ok in Arizona.

I picked up 1 from the local river even though its illegal here in TX. been doing well all summer in my 20 gallon patio pond. I will probably move them inside too.
