Water Has Too Much Calcium

Hi. My water has too much calcium that one of my bettas has white calclium deposits around her eye. It wasn't an issue for me until I see a spic of it that is on her eye now. Should I use a water softening pillow or should I use peat or should I use catappa leaves?

In this picture you can see calcium buildup around the eye. I didn't get a good picture of the spec of calcium on top of her eye.

 

I can see all the hard water marks on your tank. I would do the natural stuff first because adding pH softeners will change the water drastically unlike the natural things which leech out over time.

 

ill add driftwood to my large 40 gallon tank and catappa leaves to my 2x 2.5 betta tanks

is there a certain drift wood you think is good or is there something else is good for 40 gallon (non betta tank)?

 

I guess to get rid of the calcium spot off her eye, I simply keep her in soft water. After a while it will soften and come off by itself I reckon. I thought about rubbing it off myself, but I don't want to risk any damage to it.

well, what do you suggest if it is clouded eye? antI bacteria meds?

EDIT: if it is cloudy eye and therefore, it is a fungas infection, then the aquarium salt I added should clear it up. I'll start adding aquarium salt per water change for my two 2.5g betta tanks I keep on my computer desk.

 

The change of water, but more so, the addition of apI aquarium salt looks like it fixed and cleared her eye.
