Hello, I recently added 6 Odessa Barbs to my established tank, and there is a lot of decorations and coverage for them. I know they are adapting to my tank, but how long before they dart when they see me? Also, is it fine if I do a gravel vacuum and water change when the fish seem a bit stressed?

Water changes are your best friend with new fish. As they are stressed, they are more likely to come up with a disease. Doing water changes will dilute pathogens in the water and ultimately make the fish less stressed as it also removes nitrates.

Even if the fish get a little scared it shouldn’t bother then too much. My fish are used to their water changes, the cichlids especially seem to enjoy them. Just make sure the temp of the new water is the same/close to the tank water.
