Water Change Using A Hose?

HI Everyone,

I'm trying to research how to make my water changes easier, I have seen online a few videos where people siphon water straight into a sink/outside... which is nice and easy. But then I see them using a hose (either a garden hose or a kitchen attached hose) to refill?

Just wondering about adding the water treatment, I see they just drop it straight into the tank itself and then begin to refill? Is this actually ok?

I'm thinking to go grab a kitchen tap attachment so I can control the temperature and then just run this straight into my tank that's close by. Rather than doing it by the bucket... But just want to be sure that dumping the water treatment into the tank is safe? I've always let the water treatment sit in the water for a little while before adding it. Or does that not even matter?

If filling from a hose add enough dechlorinator for total tank volume. That's the only difference from using buckets.

Just add the conditioner before I fill her up

 

I have a hose/syphon that screws onto my bathroom sink, that way I can control the temperature. I dose the tank with Prime first, per bottle directions, and then fill the tank. I hold my hand over the end of the hose when I start and then keep the end in the water so it isn't as disruptive to the fish. So much easier than the bucket

I just bought the python suction piece attached it to a garden hose with an adapter and use an electric pump to remove water and then attach the hose to the faucet to fill it back up

 

Dechlor for volume of tank, then re-fill should not be a problem
