Water Change Python Temp.

I’m considering purchasing a python water changer but I don’t have a faucet nearby with hot/cold temp adjustment; only an outdoor garden hose faucet. Will this setup work in a cold climate or should I stick to temp adjusted bucket changes?

Hmmmm, Depends. How big is your tank? If it's bigger then you can get away with replacing say 25-30 percent without the water temps changing too much. Not sure you have to tell us more, what are the temps in your tank, what are the temps of your garden hose water. Too much of a change is bad for your fish, I always keep it within a degree or two at the most. Temp adjusted bucket changes would allow you to change more water at once which I am a strong believer in large water changes. You can change less water more often which should give you the same result. Good luck

Using an outdoor faucet in cold climate probably isn't ideal.

How far away is the nearest indoor faucet to the tank?

30 gal tank temp in tank is 77. I have a kitchen sink but it doesn’t have a faucet head only a sprayer.

I bought adapters for both my bathroom faucets, they screw on and allow you to connect a garden hose to them. Home depot sells them, most faucets have them just screw off the piece and take it with you to the hardware store and pick one up. What's the water temp of the water outside?

current it is cold in Central Ohio, not sure about outside water temp. I thought about getting an adapter but I’d have to unscrew faucet every time. I’m trying to make my water changes easier.

it takes 10 seconds to unscrew mine, it's very easy, much easier than filling buckets. Sounds like your water is way too cold outside so you don't have much of a choice. There might be a thing you can screw on and leave on, might not look the greatest but hey can't have it all

Yep. I do the same as andy305mia .

The aerator/screen unscrews from faucet and the adapter fitting for garden hoses screws back in.

When I am done with WC, I just put the aerator back on.

I use a white Camco drinking water safe garden hose. They are sold at Walmart in the RV/camping section or on Amazon and are made for RV's and travel trailers.
