Wardley's fish food

Seen the odd post where people don't like Wardleys. Why? I have it and my fish don't seem to eat it. The other brands though they pig out on. I have the tropical flakes, also freeze dried blood worms in Wardleys. . Other brands: Briine shrimp, and frozen blood worms.

A good quality fish food will not have fish meal listed as the first ingredient. If you look at the Wardley brand foods, you will probably find fish meal as the first ingredient. I also think that the Wardley brand food stays on the shelf a long time since most hobbyists learn quickly about quality fish food and probably don't buy another can of Wardley's. It's probably stale when you buy it, along with not being made with the best ingredients, so it probably doesn't taste very well. I bought a can of their tubifex worms and my fish wouldn't touch them. Then I got a can of HikarI tubifex worms and they went nuts. This is just my opinion. Nobody is gonna get trashed here if they use Wardley's, there's just better brands out there.

Thanks for that reply. It is very interesting, and something I wasn't aware of before. Wish I hadn't paid $10 for it now! ;D

I think everyone in the hobby buys the cheaper stuff and learns later on which stuff to switch out. Next time you are ready for some good food, try the Omega One or the New Life Spectrum brands. They are harder to find, but worth buying if you find them. And also keep in mind that just because a food is better quality, it doesn't mean your fish will like it.

Yeah there are just some things we all do to begin with that we learn better about and food is one of those things. Mine love Omega One.

Yes, I thought I had always used pretty good food, but picked up the Wardley flakes cos they were cheaper and the didn't look at the brand. I am going to replace today anyway. My Danios in a different tank love the stuff!! Though they tend to eat anything ;D

I bought the Wardley's brine shrimp and my fish wouldn't touch it. Perhaps this could explain why, I'm still new to 'supplements' and trying which ones they like best...
