Ok so I have 2 female black moscow guppies and I wanted to start breeding them. I need to know:
How many guppies should I start with to breed?
What size tank could I use? (10 or 20 gallon)? and if 20 long or high?
How should I do my buying, like buy males and females from how many different places?
I have tons of flame moss I was going to use to carpet the tank for the fry

Any answers are appreciated!!!

You could start a breeding operation with 1 male and 3 females, but I'd suggest 4-5 times as much. I'm not sure of minimum tank size, but I'd suggest 20G long. And yes, buy as much as you can from different sources. Have you got adequate room fr the fry, though?

What is your goal in breeding them? To make money?

Ok cool... would a 20 high be ok? I really only have room for a 20 high ... I already have a 10 gallon I could use.... so that would be ideal...

Yea the idea was to make a little bit of money... just to kinda help support this fish hobby that has grown quite large haha

You'll need a few tanks to devote to this endeavor.

I think you'll need three. One for the breeders, one to grow out the fry and one to hold the fish you are going to sell.

I'm not a breeder, but I think I'd start with 3 20 gallon longs.

oh wow hmm ok well then.. do you think id be possible to start with 3 10g? sense I have 2 and I know where I could get a 3rd for 10 bucks haha

I thought I could do 2 tanks.. 1 10 gallon for the breeding and 1 10 gallon for the selling... and just have 4-5 females and 1 male... and then go from there?

I am breeding Black Moscow Guppies in three ten gallon tanks. The breeder (adult) males in one, the breeder (adult) females in another, and the fry to grow out in the last. Hope this Helps.

I would have,

10 Gallon divided female tank

15 Gallon divided male tank

20 Long Mating tank

15 Long fry tank

10 Gallon pregnant female tank

20-40 Gallon selling tank

If you really wanted to make money out of it.
