Heya Sam! Welcome to my thread I guess!Prism said:Hi! I'm Prism. (or sam. hehe)
I live in Texas! Along with Fanatic, I don't plan to have a big break for christmas.
I get random breaks anytime of the year, (i'm homeschooled hehe).
My favorite thing about aquariums, and mostly any animals you keep in a tank is aquascaping/landscaping.
I am really quiet good at it! I asked for an aquascaping kit for christmas, haha.
I love gaming, and keeping animals.
Soon going to be adopting some guinea pigs!
A big step in my hobby.
for more information
(I am also @fanatics brother) lol
Hello Sera! Welcome! Feel free to make yourself at home here :3GoldFiska said:Hi Mary! My name is Grace but you can call me Sera, my nickname.
I’m also 16, I live in California in West USA and am a high school student!
I keep mostly oranda goldfish, but I also have rarer types of goldfish such as Tosakins, along with the occasional Dwarf cichlid. I currently have a 10 g, 5 g, 80 g, and 2 30 gallons, but the number of tanks I have changes based on whether I am breeding my fish or not.
My extracurriculars include photography and I also love studying ethology (animal behavior). I am a National Geographic sponsored wildlife photographer, here is my website: gracechungphotography.com
Thank you! I get my pictures through lots and lots of practice, studying s, and observing animal behavior.Mary765 said:Hello Sera! Welcome! Feel free to make yourself at home here :3
I swear I've seen that first picture before. Have... have I been on one of your previous threads? I remember the conversations about that rare little guy!!
Congrats on having your own website by the way! I've just checked it out and those are some STUNNING pictures!!! How did you get them so good??
I'm only keeping the common "wild" type right know while I educate myself on all their characteristics and care first hand. Hoping to eventually start breeding characteristics though, or keep some more specialised species at least!!GoldFiska said:Thank you! But getting back to fish, what kind of guppies do you keep?
That sounds cool! I’ve never had a real interest in livebearers, but I do love colorful guppies. Have you seen dumbo guppies? Really love those guys.Mary765 said:I'm only keeping the common "wild" type right know while I educate myself on all their characteristics and care first hand. I have a friend who I just discovered is looking to get rid of some of their fry, and it just so happens so am I, so we are planning on doing a fry trade to get some new colours and genes into our bloodlines. My fry are orange bodied with (male only) red stripes and a red tail. His guppies are ice white bodied with black tails. I think we could get some interesting crosses out of the two and seeing as both of our species are bred true, it will be easier to create and select the best fry for breeding!
Of course I have!! They are gorgeous <3 but my favourite types are the ones which look almost marbled, and are kinda a mix of a lot of different colours perfectly blended together. Like these guys! I aspire to breed guppies to that level one day!!!GoldFiska said:That sounds cool! I’ve never had a real interest in livebearers, but I do love colorful guppies. Have you seen dumbo guppies? Is there a “grooming” process for guppies? For goldfish, things like food, amount of protein, and the size of their tank can have a great effect on their shape, size, and color. Just wondering if there is something like that for other fish as well.
Thats my favorite part about the piggies.Mary765 said:Heya Sam! Welcome to my thread I guess!
So lucky about bring homeschooled! I'm jealous
Congrats on the guinney pigs!! They will squeak a lot for food lol
I also love animals and aquascaping actually! <3 There is a picture of my birb earlier on in this thread if you want to see her!
Also, it's so nice to see some siblings on here (aww)
Thanks! I think it's awesome too!!Goldfish@alma said:I think this is so cool, all the pet keepers from all over.
