Found this article on someone who saved a betta from Walmart. Hope many people read this and see what you can make out of a sad betta from walmart. Thoughts?

I'm glad someone has finally noticed and said something about it!I really hope this article will help to spread more awareness to the abuse and cruelty bettas are forced to go through.

I had a link to one about it but it was taken down. (I'm not upset )
Any ways, I thing that all shops should be inspected quarterly. Every 3 months, someone from the local DNR (or who every) comes in and makes sure the following is in place.
1. No betta bowls
2. Rest of fish are getting water changes.
3. sick fish are marked off sick
4. pamphlets for new fish owners
5. Fish are compatible with tank mates and parameters

IMO we shouldn't be trying to spread the message on a fish site. but to others that don't understand. (Family, Friends,Co-workers,Neighbors)

Fortunately private property rights exist, otherwise the DNR could come to YOUR house and check on YOU.

I've been banned and barred from my local Walmart for actually BRINGING the SPCA to the store to show them the deplorable conditions of their aquariums; apparently I was "disruptive to their normal operations."
