Von Rios Swimming Funky

So, just wanted to get a second opinion from the fishlorians...

5 Von Rio Flame Tetras were picked up today along with 2 gold rams. 2 tetras are swimming in a jerky, 45 degree angle way, like they can't just suspend themselves in water, they have to keep twitching along or they sink. I called the LFS- they said it was probably the result of something very different between the two waters. He ran through the basics, ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, all good. I turned their lights off and tried to give them a shelled pea. Anything else I can do?

Oh, also they seem to be reasonably active and alert.

How did you acclimate them?

Also, were they swimming normal at the store? Seems odd that they would start swimming funny once home.

I acclimated them by floating them for at least 40 minutes and every 5 minutes or so I would add a little water. I was extra anxious because I was also acclimating gold rams, and based on their reputation I was expecting them to up and die any minute, lol! So due to that, maybe I cut my corners a bit, and added to much water at one point for the tets?

I noticed a little jerky swimming at the store, but not consistently- (They, as a rule, have a darty swim pattern so it didn't look too unusual) although when we got home, they were freaking out so bad- when they were acclimating one of my friends called me over beacuse she thought one had died. Most of them look extremely happy- one of the two's swimming seems to have improved, the other hasn't gotten better.
