I meant the title to ask ARE THEY THE SAME. Dunno what happened there.
So, a while ago I bought 5 flame tetras (I intend to upgrade my aquarium, was gonna be this month but probably the next instead, so can't add more), and they are these orangy-red little things, some with clear/white tails (I assume the two males), or red tails (the three females since they are all fatter and slightly larger). They don't have the three stripes that the "von Rio" have, and the top fin that is supposed to be black is kinda like a white/light streak.
I looked into it a while ago, and all the pics and sellers and so on either had the ones I have, or had the ones with the deeper color, slightly different body shape and stripes.
I was told at my LFS that the reason why mine/theirs are like that is because of breeding.
Is this true, or do I have something different?
(They are in the background of the pic)
