I've read volcanic rock should not affect the tank. Also read about the vinegar test. I picked these rocks up on a nature hike in the hills in Phoenix. They are not affected by vinegar but just wanted to double check if anyone has personal experience with adding them. Do you know if they will affect the hardness of water or ph? Or offset the mineral balance for plants?
    Thank you. 15018633720071999452376.jpg 1501863413717391706086.jpg

It wouldn't. Lava isn't calcium based like sendimetal rock. Only thing I believe could be an issue with it containing metals.

Lava is sold as aquariumrock for years here. There even still is.some in my tanks.
