Illness & Symptoms
How long have you had this fish? 3 years
How long ago did you first notice these symptoms? 3 weeks ago
In a few words, can you explain the symptoms? Initially noticed lethargic, sitting upright but still on the floor of the tank for long periods. Moves around as normal when being fed. A week later, noticed a large lump on upper side, which turned into a reddened wound. I dosed Pimafix and Melafix, the lump went down and the area around it has turned black, as has some other small patches. Still lethargic, doing really long poops.
Have you started any treatment for the illness? 7 days dose of Pimafix and Melafix. Also used Interpet anti internal bacteria as I thought this may have helped.
Was your fish physically ill or injured upon purchase? No
How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all? Normally very active, lays still nearly all day now. Some small black patches on body
Explain your emergency situation in detail. (Please give a clear explanation of what is going on, include details from the beginning of the illness leading up to now)
I've seen little worms occasionally float around in the tank, which I think are detritus and not harmful to the fish. But I'm worried they may not be something else. Been almost a month now and my goldfish barely moves all day
Any help would be hugely appreciated! Thanks
