Very hard water acclimating soft water fish

Hello all!
My tap water and water in all my tanks comes out with a dGh of 15, around 270 ppm. My kH is 0 out of the tap so I add a buffer in my tanks to increase kH and it lowers my pH to a neutral 7, sometimes 6.8. I’ve been using this buffer since starting the hobby and never had an issue with it causing any instability. I keep all kinds of fish with no issue because I always buy locally where my LFS has the same hard Florida aquifer water :) but I want to buy fish online now from Oregon and wow they have soft water with a gH of 32 ppm  I’m wondering if the fish will just die in my water is this even safe to do? I know how to drip acclimate etc but it’s such a huge difference..

Depends on what fish you're trying to acclimate, some can acclimate well while some will fall apart.

Yeah I don’t think I’m going to risk it it’s a lot of money to spend for that possibility

Plenty of commercial hatcheries in Florida. Maybe check some of them out for the fish you want.

I have high ph, probobly 7.8 in my new house do to having well water. I purchases fish from Aquahuna which is in floriday and they stated that there ph was 6.5. So I was ready with a bucket and some distilled water with a nutral ph to let all of the fish into.
"You should not bag acclimate fish that have been in a bag more then several hours."
Then I added small amounts of tank water over the next 2 hours untill it was about half tank water and half bucket water.
Then I moved all the fish into a quarantine with all tank water, and we netted all the fish and put them into the quarantine. That was in january, not long I know! but they are all thriving.
17 chain loaches and 4 sewllia hill stream
I beleive that many tank bred fish are adaptable.
Which fish are you thinking about?

I was going to buy cardinal tetras, green neon tetras, and black neon tetras, along w some orange neo shrimp. I’m worried all these species are sensitive to gh changes

Do you have any that you recommend? I’m having a hard time finding really reputable ones

Shrimp should be no problem, but not too sure about the tetras. Try finding a lfs or some online stores that are in Florida. I heard bioaquatix is a good one, try aquabid as well.
