Vertical betta?

So I have a pretty spazzy betta fish. From the day I brought him home, he was always super active. Lately, he’s still been active but seems to be floating more vertical than usual? If he stops swimming, he floats vertically. He also usually slept between the filter and glass but now he’s on the bottom. He still eats just fine and will react instantly to my finger up to the glass. At first I fed him twice a day then I went down to once a day. In case he was constipated, I tried to feed him daphnia but oddly enough he just spits it back out every time! Should I fast him for a day and see if this weird floating changes?

Do you have any pictures of this behavior?

A picture would help.

I just checked on him and it looks like he’s sinking now. I don’t know if it’s just me, but he looks a small bit swollen?

It could potentially be swim bladder disease. My betta was recently looking a little “thicker” than usual and he was slightly facing up when he rested, so I followed the advice that I was given on here and it worked for my betta.
1. Fast him for 3 days.
(My betta improved after the 3 days of fasting so I just changed his diet and he’s all good now.)
2. Feed him daphnia for 3 days.
3. Fast him again for 1-3 days.
If he doesn’t want to eat the daphnia try giving him really small pieces. My betta didn’t want to eat them at first either, but when I gave him the smaller pieces he ate them.

So today I fasted him and he’s still hanging at the bottom a lot. He pretty much just tips over when he stops swimming. I feel so bad, I can see how hard he has to use those little fins. He’s still very response at least.

I don’t know much about swim bladder so I recommend this website to further treat him:

I hope he’ll be alright!

Thank you! He will pretty much either rest on the bottom most of the time or between one of the plants and glass. It’s like he doesn’t want to swim at all so he finds places to just be still. He seems okay other than that. It’s day 2 of fasting and still no signs of improvement.
