I had been looking forward to this for a while and I ended up with rain and clouds. Maybe I will see it in another life.

I got home, made a pinhole camera, and went outside... Just in time to see the sun disappearing behind a massive cloud. Figures. This will have to do. I have a telescope, but never got around to getting a solar filter >.>

Pinholed here as well, just just a glimpse before the sun set. Very cool thing to see.

Just going home now from watching this with my son on top of a mountain at an event the local astronomy association put on for free...about twenty different kinds of telescopes for people to view from. It rained until 6:01pm then quick as ever the clouds parted and for an hour and a half we had beautiful blue skies for viewing. Some people even let me take pics through their scope lenses...I can post if you want...but they are nothing spectacular because I have a dinky camera. Of course, dinky or not, it will always be nice to know that we were there and able to take pictures.

Nothing but dark clouds here.

On the way home, the radio guy was telling me about it, I think he should have looked out his window.
