Which veggies are healthy and beneficial to give to cichlids that are vegeterians? I just got some new ones and it seems like there diet is mostly veggie. Thanks in advance for your help.

Mine love green peas. They're firemouths. What fish are we talking about?

I also throw them pleco wafers, which are mostly spirulina, and they eat them. Some might have to be broken up if theyre too hard.

Anything marked as containing spirulina is good.
I use frozen peas and heat them and shell them, your guys will go crazy for them. Some will nibble at lettuce or norI wrappers, better if shredded first.
some people have luck with cucumbers, but not all cichlids go for this as much as other fish. Give a couple of these a try, see which works better for yours.

It's more important that they get veg-based staple foods, and no high-protein foods.

Any recommendations?

You could blanch spinach / lettuce. My keyholes (not vegetarian) love those.

My yellow labs loved the cucumber, everyone else ignored it. Can I leave it in their overnight or take it out daily?
