Valentini Puffer Diet

Hello all! I have a puffer on my hands who prefers frozen food over pellets, but I would prefer to have him on a pellet diet or something convenient like that because he will move in with my boyfriends dad, and just using an automatic feeder or asking him to just sprinkle some in would be much bettwr than expecting him to do frozen feeding daily. I would feel cruel putting love snails in just to die lol, so I don't like that idea. But maybe some small bristle worms? Ive read that they eat bristle worms, so maybe introducing bristleworms will enable him to have a steady income of food. Or has anybody had success with a certain food they've given to their puffer? Any advice is appreciated.

You could try soaking the pellets in garlic juice first. (Don’t soak too mushy). Try just that for a few days. It’s ok if it doesn’t eat them right away. It may take three or four days for it to get hungry enough to try. Once it’s eating the soaked pellets, just dip them in the garlic. Then after a few days offer without garlic. Only after it accepts the pellets as it’s main food do you start treats. Worms, frozen food etc. let us know how it goes ok?

Also look for live food. Puffers love hunting.

That’ll be for after this spoiled little puffer learns there’s more to food than frozen stuff. Lol
