I will be going on vacation for about a week and a half, and had some questions about my tank. I'm not worried about my fish, but rather dosing Flourish and Excel.

For Excel, since I cannot dose everyday, can I dose a big amount before I leave? For Flourish Comp. I can probably stretch the dosing a little bit.

Will not dosing for this long of a time mess up the balance of my tank? I already know no one will be able to come over and help while I am gone.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.

I think if you dose too much it will alter the chemistry a little bit and risk the plants of melting or turning to a different color.

Perhaps wean it by doing a dose every two days prior to your vacation.

Ok thanks! The bad side to this is that I leave in 2 days, so that wouldn't change a lot (I hate surprise vacations)

No, excel is toxic when overdosed. Flourish can be overdosed, it's a really diluted fertilizer so it won't be changing much at all.
