Hey all! With V Day being less than a month away, I want to compile a few ideas for some cute Valentine's gifts related to aquariums! Maybe it could be something you'd put on your wishlist even .... Any thoughts on what you'd get for the special fishkeeper in your life, because I have no idea for mine!

The titled reeled me in because I read V day and I thought it'd be really neat to try and come up with a gift idea for an old fishkeeping WWII veteran for victory day lol

I would choose something with a lot of detail. Say a 5-10 gallon planted nano tank for shrimp and/or real small fish and a gift card to the LFS so you can go pick out livestock together, there are zero fishkeepers that don't get excited about going to get new critters. It also still gives them the fun of personalization by being able to choose. Unless there is something very particular they mentioned, then the fact that you remembered a small detail like that will enthuse them. Another plus of a planted nano tank is that it's not a burden to maintain. So you aren't gifting them with new responsibilities lol.

Also, if they like to build tanks, I would avoid buying decorations unless you are extremely confident in their personal taste. That's another thing worth buying a gift card for. Again, providing the opportunity of going out together to buy decor is a nice notion and they can make it something they've personalized and love.

Just one idea and my 2 cents.

Just do what I do, give money. That way they can get whatever they want, including something not aquarium related. Either that, or a new tank with a pair of kissing gouramis. One named after you, the other after your SO.

That’s actually a wonderful idea! I was planning on scaping a nano tank for my dad who is a vet. He suffers from hypertension so I thought I’d get him a betta to help with that!
