Ok so I'm thinking if u are using tss u can't use easy balance right? Also what would happen if u add too much tss by accident?

Yeah but then it says underneath to use 5 ml for a 10 gallon tank which makes absolutely no sense

found this thread for you on another site.
Too much Tetra SafeStart Plus? - The Planted Tank Forum

also it says that 5 ml thing for when you are adding fish or water changes etc. meaning in the future after you have cycled your tank. for starting a new aquarium just dump the whole bottle it says. and if you get more tss . you should use 5ml when you do stuff... like if you want to continue using tss that is

I see it says for new aquarium 250 ml for 100 gal and for maintenance 5 ml for 10 gal. I have a 10 gal tank but only 7 gal in it so I added 3.5 ml this time but the first time I had added more so I guess I'm ok thanks for the link set my mind at ease. Any thoughts on using easy balance? Does that kinda defeat the purpose of using the tss?

I don't think easy balance would affect tss because it doesn't affect the ammonia and nitrites. Tss is just live bacteria that eats ammonia and nitrite which is why any dechlorinator and ammo lock mess with it because those things mess with its food.

Removing phosphates and nitrates won't bother your bb. Though, for me, I'd wait until my tank had fully cycled before adding it just to be really careful with the bn until its settled and strong.

Adding too much tss won't hurt your tank. I intentionally dosed my 20 gallon with the amount recommended for a 30 gallon just to be sure I had enough bacteria to deal with everything since I used it after I'd added fish to an upcycled tank and crashed it. The extra tss didnt bother my fish or cause any issues.
