using grow lights as aquarium lighting what are your thoughts

I have a few plants in my tank that are growing to well so I thought hay a light made to grow plants

LED's do work for aquarium use. Would have have somewhere to mount a fixture like that?

 

Grow lights do pretty well for aquarium plants. I have standard T12 grow lights on one of my planted tanks, and T5HO red and green grow lights on another. Plants seem to love both.

 

I have a clear plexiglass top not hood so I can easily rig something up to mount them witch of the two links I posted to would do better ?

I wouldn't use the first one. Red light isn't for aquatic plants. The second one looks better. Why not just get an Odysea T5HO for the same price?

I have used plant grow bulbs made for land plants successfully on the fish tank.

I love mine. It was cheap and works great. It even has a moon light.
