I really need more cycled media for one of my tanks but the only other stuff I could use would be from the quarantine tank, I had one of my fish in there that I treated with O conditioner but I had done a water change 5 days after using it anyway. the fish that was in there I had to put down because of dropsy. but he didnt die in the tank. would I be able to use that media from that tank for my other one?

Don't do it......!! Why take the chance? Cut a piece from another filter and add some plants or wood or decorations from a cycled tank.

I don't have any of that stuff I can use otherwise I would've. I have already taken media from one of my main tanks but its not enough as I'm getting ammonia spike

How much of an ammonia spike? Is this because of a recent fish addition? If you don't have any other cycled media to use and the ammonia is <1ppm, you could just dose Prime daily until your BB catches up.

yes the new fish was put in yesterday but its the only fish in that tank. its only .25 at the moment so prime will help that. but I was planning on using the media that I had to put on the hospital tank in it and that wouldve been enough for it but my fish suddenly got sick so I had to use it on there.
you don't think I could just give it a good wash in tank water so I don't kill the bb on those filters?

Which tank is this? You've got a bunch of sponges and bio media from your 4 AquaClears on your 2 main tanks, no? Even one of the sponges should help.

ok so on the hospital tank there is aquaclear 50 (which would be the most established filter)
aquaclear 20

on the 56 gallon (main tank) there is aquaclear 70 that I put a 110 bio bag in to seed and has a sponge (not estrablished at all as its new and only been on there for a week)

and aquaclear 110 which has the large sponge, large bio media, and a tiny sponge from a internal filter that I cycled a while ago. it also has 3 small bio bags that have been in there for 2 weeks now I think. I don't want to take much out of there and cause a minI cycle though

on the 77 gallon (where the new fish is)
there is 2 110 aquaclears with the sponges and one large bio bag in one which none of that has been established or anything

I hope that made sense lol

I'd take the large bio media from the 56's 110 and swap it with one of the new tank's large bio media.

really? you don't think that would be taking too much? the large sponge and other stuff would be enough?
also what should I do about the media on the hospital tank, I want to use that again someday too

You've got a lot of media on your 56g as it is so I don't think swapping one will hurt it too badly. Plus, bacteria multiplies every 24 hrs.

I'd toss the hospital tank media. You really don't want to risk introducing anything to your main tanks. Add in some new bio media wherever you can fit them in your main tank's filters so you have some seeded media ready for the hospital tank when you need it.

ok ill try that! thanks so so much for helping it was stressing me out lol
I might use some stability on both the tanks aswell so it will speed it up a bit more too and buy some more media I can add to seed

Getting Stability isn't a bad idea either. I would have done the same just in case.
