Used tank coming with tiger barbs

So I'm getting a used 15 gallon from a friend with tiger barbs. I don't know what tank mates I should have with them tho? I have a male bettas in a smaller tank but I'm skeptical because I know they are fin nippers. Got any suggestions? If I can't figure it out in just gonna sell the tiger barbs and start a new species tank

 

Get rid of the Tigers. They need nothing less than a 20. I wouldn't put them in nothing less than a 30 gallon.

Use that 15 gallon for Shell Dwellers, or put your Betta in the 15. He would love the extra room.

Yes that's totally possible. What bottom feeders do you have or are gonna get? Also for the 15 I would suggest some Harlequin Rasboras, a nice size school or neons, or some Gertrudes Blue Eyed Dwarf Rainbowfish.

Rehome the tiger barbs.

 

There really are not any suitible bottom feeders for a 10 gallon.
A dwarf gourami would be best in a 20 gallon.
Tiger barbs really need a 30 gallon or larger and a school of 12 or larger. while A 20 gallon is a possability as a species only tank for tiger barbs. they are cool hardy fish, but not for a 15 gallon.

Sparkling gourami would be good in the ten gallon.
