Urgent! Skinny Panda Platy and Parasites: Worms?

It looks like my poor panda platy (Lazarus) is on his way out He has always been skinny, and I didn’t realize it was a problem until I compared him to my other platies. He has also always spent more time sitting on the substrate and has always kind of looked sickly. I didn’t realize what a problem it was until recently; after looking at some posts about skinny/sickly platies and seeing white stringy poop, I concluded that there was some parasitic problem. I have been dosing prazipro every three days since the 27th (I’m on my second dosage which I did today). Today I noticed poor LazI was hiding in a log. It worried me so I wiggled the log, causing him to relocate to the tank floor. He looks terrible and is gasping for breath. Is there any hope for the poor guy? Or is he too far gone? He is alive and kind of gasping shallowly. Please answer quickly! It’s not looking good for the poor boy.

I don't think he's going to make it. It happens sometimes, rest in peace.

I turned on the air stone to make him more comfortable. Should I take him out and put him in a plastic bag so as not to let the parasites disperse when he passes?

That would be a good idea. I had a platy die like that over the course of 24 hours and I should have euthanized him.

I don’t know if I have the resources to euthanize him. What are some of the common ways to euthanize using household items? I don’t want to crush the poor thing.

Clove oil is the most commonly used/considered the most humane.
Putting the fish in a bag of ice water will instantly knock him unconscious and continuing to freeze it will kill him, but some people are against it.
