I don't know what a Goe is but I'm going to assume the cory is already gone?
There are people here who lightly anesthetize their fish with clove oil to do minor things. Perhaps I can find someone on who has.

Geophagus/eartheater
Might be more like Cory eater

That is quite awful, I feel with you and your fish. I hope the geo managed to get the cory out or eat it. As far as I know Corydoras have a rigid dorsal fin that can get stuck, guess that happened here.

Sorry I have no idea, keeping my fingers crossed.

Well I've managed to get it out of his mouth however he's now laid on his side on the bottom barely moving with his mouth wide open.
Waiting game now to see if he survives the night :/

He's been through a lot. I hope you see improvement in the morning.

Prayers for you and your baby.

Oh, wow! Yeah , that dorsal must have stabbed him on the roof of the mouth. Probably hurts! I wonder ( if he makes it) if you should give him an antibiotic.

If you can ... Push the Cory in a bit turn it 90 degrees and pull it out. Think of the Cory as a fish hook. Good luck.

Which fish is in bad shape? The cory? Is he still alive?

It sounds to me like the cory is dead and the geophagus is lying on his side. Or, maybe I read it all wrong.

The Cory is dead yes, the Geo is looking pretty lifeless on the tank bottom, just making the odd fin movement. I think he's going to die too :/

Aw. I really hope he recovers. He may have gotten spiked, or slightly poisoned... poor little guy!

He needs to get water thru his gills or he will suffocate. If the Cory is already dead take a small sharp pair of scissors and cut the Cory up. Gross I know but I don't see another way.
Edit: sorry I missed the post where you stated its out of his mouth.

The Cory is out, but I think it has done a lot of damage to the Geophagus

Sorry I just saw that. Try holding the fish in the water facing the filter output. This will force water thru his gills. Think of it as CPR for fish.

They both died :/ the Geo has now passed away, such a shame I don't even know where to get another Geo from as my LFS gave me him for free. I've never seen one for sale anywhere else near my home :/

I'm so sorry, he was beautiful. There are several online sources that you can use that have geophagus. Not sure where you live but on the east coast try Imperial Tropicals, in mid-states, Tangled Up In Cichlids, and west coast, Wetspot. Again, so sorry for your loss.

You can probably ask your LFS to special order another one in.

It's already out Dave.
Corys have a spine indeed and can sting.
That might have happened or a lack of oxygen cause t wasn't pkssible to let water flow along the gills. I hope it is the latter cause it could recover.
