Urgent! chronic disease taking over

Help! This is a chronic disease that has been going on for months.
My water parameters are stable and safe for my fish, but some of my neons have now developed strange symptoms.

- Occasional white bumps, almost like zits that seem to emerge and then go back in.
- most of these bumps are on the base of the tail and the area is swollen
- some loss or dulling of certain scales
- dissappearing chunks from tail fins, as if broken and ripped out
- Occasional flashing

Appetite has always been good. I’ve decided to seek help as the symptoms are now much worse and one of my little ladies is hanging at the top of the tank with some missing tail and a swollen base of her tail.

The pictured lumps are likely muscle cysts caused by NTD,
Neon Tetra Disease.
There is no known cure & is a slow killer. Don't allow healthy tankmates
to nibble on a dead Neon. NTD spreads that way.

Thanks. This has been going on for much longer than a month - I would say at least 6 on and off- the missing tail chunks are more recent, since the last month or so. The white spots stick out and then swell back down. I didnt think it looked like NTD from pictures I’ve seen, but very hard to tell.

One of my younger tetras now has an identical spot... can anyone else confirm it is Neon Tetra Disease? What would be the evidence?

By the way, I mean no disrespect by asking a second opinion- just want to double-check as I know NTD is often given as a diagnosis for neons

Yes I would agree with the above post, it is most likely NTD or a sort of fungus. This is extremely common in these fish and normally arrive in a shop in that sort of condition. Possible can treat with meds but it is difficult. ESHA do a treatment for this. Clean water and cattapa leaves are always good to add for skin issues.

Even after 7 months? Last addition was 7 months ago.

Hmm it could possibly of been triggered by stress or some kind of water parameter swings that weakened the fish and made it suspectable to disease. It is very common disease in these tetras unfortunately.

Looks like Neon tetra disease.

Neon tetra disease attacks the muscle of the fish, so causes fading of red band and thinness but it seems to also be associated with white lumps and lip warts.
