That is not an upside down catfish but rather some other species of synodontis. Is suggest picking up frozen blood worms, they're bigger than brine shrimp and a bit easier to feed IMO. When you feed him I'd turn off the lights and the filter so the worms don't sink the the bottom instead of floating around and getting sucked up the filter.

How long have you had him and what are the parameters in the tank (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates)? How large is the tank?

Why would you turn the filter off. You’d loose your cycle if it’s for any length of time.

HI there. Can I get your tank water parameters? A lot of times fish don’t eat if they have water chemistry issues. How big of a tank is he in? Any other fish in the tank?

Has he been pooping? He could be constipated also, since he won’t eat. You could try cooking some peas, deshelled them, smash them up, and drop them in the tank. Peas act as a laxative and can help flush their systems out. It is definitely worth a try. Then for food, I recommend the API bottom feeder pellets. They aren’t messy at all, and my bottom feeders love them. HikarI is a great brand too.

Turning the filter off for a few minutes, just while feeding isn’t a huge issue. It’s remembering to turn it back on that is a problem. I would set an alarm for 10 minutes, to be sure that I remembered. I wouldn’t leave it off for any longer than that. The risk of forgetting to turn it back on, is pretty great.

He looks to be a Synodontis multipunctatus, although can’t quite tell since he is hidden in the shadows a bit
