Upgrading lighting on 29 gallon tank—suggestions?

Zonotrichia

I'm just starting to look into upgrading my lighting for my 29 gallon planted community tank. Currently I just have the standard Aqueon LED hood, and I'm considering switching to a glass top (I have one on my quarantine tank and prefer it) with an LED light that might make my plants a little happier.

I would like to stay low tech, no CO2. Most of my plants are low light (Anubias, Cryptocoryne spiralis, Java fern), but I think my Amazon sword would appreciate a little more light than what we're giving it.

As I'm still pretty new to this hobby, I would rather not DIY a lighting setup. The Finnex Stingray (30") has seemed like a good possibility, but I'd appreciate any thoughts or recommendations!

Thanks in advance.

Honestly, any light is an improvement over the standard kit ones. Finnex is a reliable workhorse from what I’ve heard, but I haven’t used one myself so I can’t give any details. Your plants seem to be low demand ones, so it should work out no problem I think. Budget amazon brands like Hygger and Nicrew are also good choices for low light plant.

I got a Finnex 24/7 light on my 29 gallon. It's a good medium-level light and my low-tech setup is flourishing under it.

Thanks! Does anyone have opinions on the original Finnex Stingray vs Finnex Stingray 2?
