upgrading. but to what?

just got back from lowes... way more light options than I ever would have dreamed.. I'm doing a 75 gallon african cichlid tank, no live plants... so what kind of light should I get, how many K and how many lumens? just want something that's going to give off the best of the fish color

 

I would aI'm for in the 6500-8k range still, I would prob use a 2 bulb 48inch fixture and be done with it. You could also go a bit to the 12k range with one of the bulbs as well if you wanted to. I forget where the fresh water algae really likes the light.

 

well th bulbs I currently have are just 6000K

 

do you like the light they put off?

 

it seems like when they were on my 55 gallon tank, there were darkspots.. and I'm afraid with a 75 gallon there will be even more dark spots in the corners and back
